On Sunday, April 09, 2017 our Universal Family lost a sister. Her name is Monika Crapps.
My wife was her angelic guide when she was first diagnosed. Her battle was a tough one but Monika fought it with positivity and her love for God. Her initial Breast Cancer eventually had two more cancers attached to it, ovarian and finally stage 4 lung cancer.
Married or being in a committed relationship with a Breast Cancer patient or survivor who still suffers from the after effects is not a cake walk but God will make it easier when it feels overwhelming because it will be. I was finding God before but I finally found him after seeing him work on Maria. I am glad I found him because many more women will be diagnosed and I am now here to help their husbands understand it and get through it with transparency and honesty.
Our brother Gary has loss the love of his life and we all have loss a beautiful soul with a smile like sunshine. They have been huge Brumfield supporters for years and surprised us at our first paid show here in Atlanta. They were two of 3 people that showed up to support us and it never stopped. We will never forget that night for as long as we live.
Please, my sisters, get your mammograms! Do not wait!
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 11 AM at the St. Phillip AME Church in Atlanta Georgia, 30317
